Weekly Want: BAGGU Splotch Duck Bag

I already own three BAGGU Duck Bags in Cobalt, Neon Yellow, and the ALL Knitwear collaboration. But I recently discovered that they released this blue & pink Splotch pattern and I'm in love. Do I really need another Duck Bag? No. But do I want it? YES. A thousand times YES. The Duck Bag is a great daily bag at a great price to boot! Just $26! It's perfect for carrying around all the essentials and there's still room for the days when I want to tote around my sketchbook and art supplies.
Available through BAGGU.

Weekly Want: Tough Luck

I was super bummed when I heard the news of Falconwright closing shop. The ladies of FW cited that they were closing up to move on to new projects. A couple months have passed and Sandi Falconer has opened a new shop: Tough Luck. I was already a huge fan of Sandi’s work so naturally I would follow her to whatever new project she was starting. Tough Luck, so far, looks like a continuation of her personal stuff previously under the name Deadweight. But she’s added a few new pieces which I’m totally in love with!

Weekly Want: Hand-painted Cat Brooch by Emma Carlisle

I feel like I've been lagging on blogging because I've been focusing on producing new work. It's been a little disheartening seeing a lot of my favorite Etsy shops close & move their shops elsewhere…or worse, close forever. But being a seller myself, I understand. I don't expect my etsy shops to be there forever either. But the one thing I really miss about the old Etsy is how easy it was to discover new sellers & great products. The new Etsy tries to predict what you will like based on what you previously liked or what your friends are liking and it ends up being a bunch of repetitive stuff.

I think that's why I haven't posted a Weekly Want in a while. I just haven't come across anything recently that wowed me. But I've been thinking a lot of Emma Carlisle's work lately. Everything about her work just makes me happy. It's probably mostly because a lot of her work features a orange tabby cat that reminds me of my Sebastian. This week I'm loving this particular hand-painted brooch. It just looks like Sebastian when he's looking to play!

Available from her shop.

Weekly Want: Wolverine X Samantha Pleet Digby Sandal

The weather has been in the 80s here in LA and it's not even summer yet! It's been so hot, I can't even think about putting on shoes. I've been wearing my Birkenstocks almost every day for the past year since we didn't really get any rain this year. But now that Spring is officially here, I've been shopping around for some cute new sandals. I fell in love with all the Wolverine X Samantha Pleet boots, but I just don't wear boots often enough to really commit. So naturally, their sandals are definitely need-worthy. These are the classy Digby Sandal with a nice touch of contrasting canvas.

Available from Wolverine for $222.

Weekly Want: BAGGU Sailor Stripe Duffel Bag

I've been itching to travel lately…mostly just wanting to take the year off to travel and draw. But being that I am self-employed, I don't yet have the luxury to do that (financially). I have also been thinking that it's time to update my luggage. For the past ten years, I've been using the same Adidas gym duffel when I travel and it's quite small. I've had this bag since high school and never had my own luggage. Most of the suitcases I owned were hand-me-downs from my sister. Being a big fan of BAGGU, I was super excited when they announced the release of their duffels. In a little over two weeks, I'm going on a mini vacation to New York and would totally love to take this with me on the trip.
Available from BAGGU for $82

Weekly Want: Isabel Reyes Feeney Tote

As if I don't already own enough tote bags, I'm currently loving this tote by Isabel Reyes Feeney. Isabel is an illustrator from Madrid, Spain who draws a lot of people, animals, and other whimsy things. The illustration on the tote features two of my favorite things: geometric shapes & sad people (well, in this case, person). I absolutely love the simplicity and clean lines with just a tiny touch of color in the hands and feet.

Available from Isabel Reyes Feeney for $20.15

Weekly Want: La Lisette Watermelon Pouch

What is everyone doing for Memorial Day weekend? We're just a little under a month away from the beginning of summer and the LA heat has been here on and off. This week's pick has me thinking about chillin' with some sweet, fresh watermelon. This Watermelon Pouch by La Lisette is handmade from leather and at just a little larger than 6in., it's perfect for the days when you want to travel a little lighter. It also comes with wrist strap so you don't have to lug it around like a clutch. And let's not forget how unbelievably cute it is!

Available from La Lisette for $89

Weekly Want: Kyyote Abstraction Necklace #2

I know it's been awhile, but the Weekly Want is back! I tried on this necklace the last time I visited Myrtle and I've been thinking about it ever since. It's fun yet delicate & light, and it has all the things I love: colorblocks & geometric shapes! I love how it feels as light as a feather when wearing it. But my favorite thing is the amount of time and care that went into making this beauty. I'm definitely going back for this once I have a day job again.

Weekly Want: Capella Bracelet in Grey

I've been a fan of Son of a Sailor's jewelry for quite some time. For Fall, they released their Polaris collection named after navigational stars. The collection consists of beautiful Czech glass beads, bright colors, and sleek nylon cords. I love how colorful yet simple the pieces are. All the necklaces and bracelets are slender and petite, but don't feel delicate at all. My particular favorite is the Capella bracelet in grey. I love the bright red and turquoise together with the accents of gold.

Available from Son of a Sailor for $22

Weekly Want: Mary Meyer Silk Tee

Keeping with the blue theme set by last week's want, this week I started thinking about this Mary Meyer silk tee and how it had been a while since I last interacted with Whitney (owner of Myrtle) on Twitter or Instagram. We communicate via social media quite often mostly because I never get a chance to stop by the store as much as I would like to…but my wallet thanks me for that! But the last time I was there, I tried on this Mary Meyer top and I instantly knew I was in trouble. It's in the best shade of primary blue. It fits like a dream! and it feels amazing on! If I owned this top, I would wear it to death. But the big killer for me was the price tag…and I also happened to drop a lot of money on that Hetterson sweater. I'm just gonna keep dreaming about it for now.

Available from Mary Meyer for $147

Weekly Want: Blue Suede Baggu

Every morning my inbox is flooded with tons and I mean TONS of e-blasts from all of my favorite retailers. Lately, I've been trying to scale back and unsubscribe from brands I've either outgrown or the ones I only shop at once a year (that's you, Victoria's Secret, Hautelook, and Forever 21!). But there is one brand that makes me GASP every single time I open their emails—BAGGU. I have three of their regular shopper bags, one baby BAGGU for carrying around lunch, two daypacks, and (my favorite) the duck bag. I LOVE their bags. They're durable, versatile, and they come in the best colors! And every time I open their e-mail, there's another new product in great colors that I love and need. My most recent obsession is their small leather pouch in blue suede. I've been waiting one of their leather pouches for a while but couldn't decide which color I wanted. Then they released the blue suede which is just absolutely stunning!

Available at BAGGU for $20

Weekly Want: Color Block Locket

I've been coveting Verabel lockets for a really long time. But when she started collaborating with Alyson Fox, I just died. The locket is vintage with an illustration by Alyson. I love the simplicity and the colors. I feel like in this digital, less people wear lockets. More people are willing to have their loved ones as cell phone wallpaper than a treasure hanging from their necks. I had a gold heart-shaped locket when I was a kid that I wore until the chain no longer fit. Rest assured that if I ever get a new locket, I'd definitely put a picture of Sebastian in it.

Available at Verabel for $65

Weekly Want: Chalk It Up Piggy Bank

Earlier this week, I made the decision to move out of my parents' house by the end of the year. There's still a lot of saving to be done before I do so, but I feel like this is a good time to move on to something new. So in honor of saving money in style, I bring you the Chalk It Up Piggy Bank from the fine folks at Ladies & Gentlemen. I love its little leather tail and its cork nose. Whether saving for the home of your dreams or starting your kid's college fund, this minimal piggy bank let's you customize your cause…or just decorate to your heart's content.

Available at Ladies & Gentlemen for $85

Weekly Want: Suede Sidewalk Skimmers in Crystal Blue

For the past 5 years, flats have been my footwear of choice. But the number one problem I have with them is how easily I wear them down. Most of the time, I don't think it's a quality issue…I just think I walk a lot. I'm always hesitant to spend more than $50 on a pair of flats because I know how quickly they'll wear down. But that doesn't mean I can't admire them from a distance. I'm still on my bold color kick and being that I can't resist anything from Madewell, these sidewalk skimmers do the trick. They're just perfect shade of cobalt blue! And they're made of suede too!

Available at Madewell for $98

Weekly Want: Fifi Lapin iPhone 4/4s Case

I've been a long-time fan of Kris Atomic, an illustrator based in Brighton, UK. In fact, I'm currently rocking her work as my wallpaper. Her work is fun, whimsy, sassy, and girly. I love all her girls. The best way I can describe them is: they're the type of girls I've always imagined myself hanging out with and the type of girls I thought I'd grow up to be.

But Kris is probably most known for her character, Fifi Lapin. Fifi is the most fashionable bunny alive and has been seen sporting the best looks from the runway. She became so popular that she even has her own book titled What Shall I Wear Today? Prior to getting an iPhone, I made a mental list of cases I want when I finally get one. Somehow this cutie slipped my mind. Here's Fifi Lapin sporting oversized shades, white v-neck, and a yellow skirt…essentially my uniform.

Available at Iconemesis for £24.99

Weekly Want: MUJI Smooth Ballpoint Pen

A little over a month ago, I took a quick little trip to New York. While I was there, I finally got a chance to stop by a MUJI store. My go-to pen used to be the Gel-Ink Ballpoint Pen in 0.5mm Black. Every time one of my friends had plans to go to New York, I would give them a shopping list asking them to bring back at least two of them for me. But when I went to the store myself, I decided to try something different and got myself one of these. The Smooth Ballpoint Pen is a retractable pen only available in black with a 0.7mm tip and I absolutely love it. I love the super minimal design of the pen (like all things MUJI) and it is the best writing pen I've EVER owned. They weren't kidding when they named it 'Smooth'. The ink flow is perfect and it's super light in the hand. They're just $0.75 more than the gel pens and totally worth it. I need at least 5 more of these to keep at my desk and just to always have one on me.

Available at MUJI for $2.25

Weekly Want: SUPER Giaguaro Quasimodo

Living in sunny California, we wear sunglasses almost all year round. SUPER by RETROSUPERFUTURE makes the best glasses (both optical and sunglasses) I have ever seen. They're made in Italy and have ZEISS lenses from Germany which provide a high level of protection in all conditions. They have an amazing range of colors and the perfect tortoises. The Giaguaro is by far my favorite frames of the bunch and the Quasimodo colorway makes me think "Why don't more people make tortoise like this anymore?" It employed a long-forgotten acetate blending technique from the 70s which gives it its unique color and making each pair slightly different. I just love how rich the gold and ambers are in the blend. The shape reminds me of some of the great glasses I had growing up that I wish I could still wear.

Available at RETROSUPERFUTURE for €185
